SCP Foundation | Medical Division
Organizational history and field documentation for FMS personnel and interested Foundation parties.
Better known by their old name of the Medical Department, they were remade due to extremely high loss rates after the Burning. They are one of our greatest assets, with both their civilian branch and Sigma-12 "Principal Help", their combat medics. With their headquarters located within Installation-45, they are high in presence and often busy.
Historical Record
The Medical Department was created as an answer to treat personnel injured from anomalies. Due to the intricacy of the Foundation's efforts, they managed to expand their numbers drastically to aid the newly injured from the Afro-Eurasian SCP breaches. Sadly, there remains a shortage in medical staff in some sites, with the worst shortage being in therapists.
Due to the mass violence and risks that come with working in Foundation sites following the Burning, the Medical Department rebranded to the Foundation Medical Services, and added a division of combat medics to their ranks with the goal of keeping medical personnel safe.
Addendum
Following the emergency order to abandon ship during IR-4001, all remaining staff and patients were transported to Foundation hospitals across both South and North America and the remaining hospitals effectively abandoned, resulting in a large amount of medical supplies being lost. Production of those medical supplies was also drastically cut due to the situation in Afro-Eurasia, so the resources are running on fumes.
